Vacuum is used to pull flat boxes out of a magazine and open it at the same time. Then vacuum is used again to place products in the box, and move the sealed box to a pallet.
Vacuum is used to assist in the labeling of many types of goods. Generally a tamp-on labeler will hold a label peeled off of a spool and press or "tamp" it onto the package. Another method of labeling is with a vacuumized belt. The label is transferred to the belt and round objects are able to roll across it for application.
Leak detectors work by drawing a vacuum in a tank filled with water. Then with a product held under the surface of the water, a visual inspection can be done to look for air leaking. The principle is to create an artificially high pressure difference between the bag or package and the water with the help of vacuum.
There are almost endless applications for inline strainers in the field of vacuum. Raw water intakes for marine air conditioners and live well pumps use strainers to keep seaweed and other contaminates out of the system. Recreational Vehicles also use them to pre-filter their water. Filters are used on oil strainers and agricultural sprayers along with any water treatment or pre-filtration application. Any vacuum system that is in a dirty environment will pull that contamination through the suction cup and then the vacuum pump. Placing a filter before the pump will help protect it from clogging and damage.
Almost any industrial application that is automated will use vacuum to pull goods or sheets off of a stack to start a process and re-stack it at the end. This can be done with plywood, slip-sheets, cardboard and a variety of other materials.
In the manufacture of veneer, plastic or other laminated products, vacuum is used to eliminate bubbles and increase strength.

Vacuum is used in multiple ways in the molding industry. Examples of thermoforming include blister packs, clamshells, hot tubs, and other plastic packaging where vacuum is used to pull a heated sheet of plastic over a mold. Then after the mold is made they are removed with suction cups. Any injection mold can be assisted by vacuum as well.
Food is kept fresher longer when packaged void of air or with a nitrogen flush. Anything from cryovac packaged tenderloins to lunch meat in a tray has been sealed with the use of vacuum. Turkeys to tuna use vacuum to extend shelf life. MRE's to cushions use vacuum to save space.
Many boat builders incorporate vacuum into their hull molding process. By vacuum bagging the hull, air that would weaken the mold is pulled out along with extra resin ensuring even distribution and eliminating extra weight. The result is a stronger lighter hull. This process is done on anything from a canoe all the way up to super yachts. Similar applications include any molded fiberglass or carbon fiber part like car hoods, model planes, high end bicycles, etc.
